I’ve Been Having Some Great Fishing Trips..
I’ve been having some great fishing trips lately using Lyman Lures, and I just wanted to give you the report. The four inch black and silver (white belly) and six inch Lymans resembling rainbow trout have been outfishing everything else on Tahoe the last few trips. I generally troll these Lymans fast, 2.5 to 3.5 MPH, on leadcore line with a long (100+ foot or for you Canadians 30 meter) leader of 10 pound fluorocarbon line.
Last Wednesday, I caught a nice 15 pound mackinaw at 5:00 pm on Lake Tahoe, pounding the sandy bottom with a six-inch Lyman at 40 – 50 feet. I’ve been catching a lot of smaller (3 to 6 pound) mackinaw as well, and this morning I caught 2 brown trout on another lake trolling the 3 inch Lyman. Right now your lure is “The breakout star of spring 2010” on my local lakes.
Here are a couple of photos, and I now have enough photos and stories to finish my article on Lyman Lures.
