This past week I took a friend of mine who is new to Lake trout fishing out. It was a for “fun trip” for us after I had finished guiding for the day. We headed out to a local spot well known for the large lakers who can prove to be difficult to catch. After a few slow hours bucking the wind we headed to a new spot at last light. The wind settled down nicely and we were able to connect with 2 fish, the first in at 6lbs 10 ounces, 30 inches and the second a much better result in at 25lbs, 38 1/2 inches. Needless to say my buddy is now well focused on the pursuit of large Lakers. When asked by people on what lures I recommend and tactics to catches these monsters I always tell them two things, 1. Stay deep on the bottom, 2. Don’t forget your Lyman’s. They truly are fish magnets. Thanks for such an awesome product!
